My Story ~ One Woman's Voice ~ Page 4
It was my parental right to ask questions about
these people. If this was a proper governed /regulated
agency such as social work, some form of investigation
would be in place.
In these court corridors of shame and distress,
I observed parents/guardians crying, with no facilities
to compose themselves, or have private interviews
with their solicitors. I could have told you about
three separate cases that were in progress within
the building regarding child welfare that day.
The unethical practices of solicitors discussing
children’s details, like cut price discounts,
the jargon being thrown at people to comply, and
threats of statements such as "you will go
to prison" or "you will be fined".
(Even in the DWP, you are allowed a private confidential
interview to discuss your details.)
Why are we exposing children’s details
in buildings and corridors of distress that also
house court cases/interviews of child sex offenders?
On one occasion, at one of these procedural hearings,
my companion (who is childless) was asked by a
solicitor if she could watch over a young girl’s
child while they went in to the closed court,
as no children are allowed in.
I was so distressed at what I was being forced
to expose myself and my children to, that I wrote
to the Scottish Court Service headquarters in
Edinburgh, in June 2006, about the sheer lack
of facilities, the poor security in the building
monitoring who is coming in and out of these areas,
and received a reply back in July 2006, assuring
me measures would be put in place. As noted in
the following letter: from Scottish court service:

Nothing ever materialised from this letter.
With regards to me and my personal case, three
more of these independent non-biased reporters
were ordered into my home, as I had refused to
have any further dealings with the first reporter.
(Referred to in the following letters.)
On one occasion in April/May I decided to be
represented by a local firm of solicitors, as
I was frightened and did not know any of the procedures,
or jargon, and was advised by the sheriff at a
previous hearing, to get myself legal representation.
On meeting my new solicitor, who was a female,
I went along for a 10 minute consultation. In
these corridors of distress, I was with my companion
and stated to this solicitor that the pursuer
had a history of violence towards me, and on one
occasion had thrown liquid over me. The solicitor’s
response was that it was perfectly normal for
this to happen. My companion and I stood there,
I had tears in my eyes thinking here was a professional
getting paid to condone violence. My thoughts
also went out to the mother who had acid/liquid
thrown over her face in Edinburgh.
The firm noted in the letter below, who now had
independent Reporter X working for them, threatened
me that if I continued with my believed complaint
they would stop acting. Needless to say I never
wanted them to act for my child again after the
condoning of violence and getting paid tax payers
money for it
