My Story ~ One Woman's Voice ~ Page 5
Anger and despair was eating away at my stomach.
I told that woman to get me in and out of that
courtroom, and she stood up this day and stated
in the courtroom that if I continued with my believed
complaint against Reporter X, she would withdraw
from acting on my child’s behalf.
I made my decision even before I went in that
courtroom that this woman would never represent
me or my child again.
As a result of the telephone call to the radio
station, and informing Reporter X that I had done
this, the radio station got back in touch with
me to inform me that Reporter X had contacted
them trying to obtain a copy of the live broadcasted
show. They declined her request in the best interest
of the public, more than what the reporter or
the Scottish legal system had to me and my children.
Once the courts heard I had been in touch with
the media, they decided to drop Reporter X and
try and get another 3 of these people in to my
home, giving no reasons why but to safeguard themselves,
a little too late.

I was threatened in court, that if I did not
comply with any of the reporters that were sent
to my home, I would be held in contempt of court,
and be considered as being obstructive.
I drew up the following contract, to safeguard
mine, and my children’s rights:

I went back to court in the middle of June, and
had found an Edinburgh solicitor. This solicitor
had acted for me competently 10 years previously
in my divorce, and no court or legality was involved
in the access contact with my ex husband, for
my son, as we were able to resolve that area like
two adults. I had drawn up the above contract
for the court to sign and had provided a copy
in advance to the sheriff to look over and sign,
as I was not allowing any more of these people
to put me and my children at further risk and
on trial in our own home.
The sheriff looked at me in disgust and stated
the court would not sign it. I stated that I was
not giving any further information if my rights
and my children’s safety could not be guaranteed
or assured. (Even when the police enter your home
they have to caution you to state that anything
you say can be taken down as evidence and used
against you. So you have your rights read to you.
Independent non biased reporters don’t seem
to carry forward this practice.)
